Overview
Reporting to the manager of volunteer services and programs, the coordinator of Patient and Family resources is responsible for coordinating the accessibility and delivery of educational resources to all Dana-Farber’s adult patients and their families across all satellite locations. This includes programmatic coordination for all digital and on-site resources, workshops, and programming available through DFCI’s resource centers. The program coordinator assists in supervising the resource centers, creating and editing digital content and supervising volunteer services interns whose work relates to the resource centers.

Responsibilities
- Programmatic coordination of the Eleanor and Maxwell Blum Patient and Family Resource Center (Longwood) and collaboration with the coordinator of the center for education and support (Chestnut Hill)
- Primary coordination, maintenance and oversite of the Blum Digital Resource Center and Overdrive Digital Library
- Organization and dissemination of educational and informational materials and resources. This includes maintenance and ongoing input of approved digital resource materials and remote interfaces with patients and families
- Responsible for high level customer service – Remotely and in person, greeting and assisting patients, families, volunteers, and staff
- Continuously maintains an up to date in depth knowledge of institute resources for patients and families
- Implements processes that increase integration of resources into the patient and family experience at DFCI
- Seeks appropriate information for all visitors and refers them to the appropriate person or department.
- Collaborates with communications and other stakeholders on digital and on-site marketing materials to promote utilization of the centers, DFCI supportive resources and volunteer services
- In collaboration with stakeholders, gathers feedback from patients, families and staff and addresses concerns or feedback.
- Maintains organization of physical spaces
- Supports projects for patient education, resource access, and patient and family experience
- Coordinates and hosts remote digital programs for patients and families
- Trains volunteers who provide assistance with programs and resource distribution
- Trains interns who provide assistance with resource center programming
- Provides staff coverage as necessary for centers
- Contribute to strategic communications plans developed for the Volunteer Services and Patient Programs
- Build project timelines, planning of content needs; approval process for associated materials.
- Manage assigned projects to deadline, keeping management, team members informed of progress, potential issues, and proposed solutions.
- Serve as primary point of contact for Bone Marrow Transplant webinars, Blum programming and marketing initiatives
- Serve as marketing point person for Volunteer Services and Patient Programs.
- Responsible for coordination of Virtual Programming hosting, editing and posting of videos
- Maintain a mission of promoting diversity and inclusion through accessibility of resources
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required
Experience
- 2 years’ experience of program coordination
- 2 years of communications experience, preferably for an education or healthcare site
